Guided by industry expertise: Dr Jan Räker.
Dr. Jan Räker serves as the Director of Operations & Infrastructure at the German Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart and has been a CAS arbitrator since 2015, where he is primarily appointed in football-related cases.
Previously, he was the Legal Director at VfB Stuttgart, where he was comprehensively responsible for all legal issues across all areas of the club’s activities—including transfers, compliance, data protection, and investor relations—and General Counsel at Hamburger SV.
Dr. Räker studied law at the University of Cologne, specializing in public law and sports law, and subsequently obtained his doctorate there. He also holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Sports Law from McGill University Faculty of Law in Montreal (Canada).
